Larry Hagman is a talented actor and comfortable in serious and comedic roles. Aside from “I Dream of Jeannie,” and “Dallas” Larry Hagman has been a familiar face on many series and programs. He starred in the short-run series “Orleans,” that ran for seven episodes in 1997. His most recent appearances on television were on Nip/Tuck in 2006, Lindenstrasse (German program) in 2006 and Complices (Spanish program) in 2009.
He landed roles in several successful feature movies including,
“Primary Colors,” “Nixon,” “Superman,” “The Eagle has Landed,” and
“Harry and Tonto.” He also resurrected his role of J. R. Ewing in
two highly successful Dallas movie sequels. His list of movies
includes comedies and tragedies. Although nothing matched his huge
success of “Dallas,” or time taken away from acting to recover from
a liver transplant, Larry has continued to pursue his passion for
acting and directing.
He directed several episodes of Dallas becoming executive
co-producer of the series. He also directed seven episodes of the
hit series “In the Still of the Night,” staring his good friend
Carol O’Connor. His acting has been recognized by his fans and
peers. He has won six soap opera digest awards for Outstanding
Villain. He was nominated for Emmy and Golden Globe awards. He won
the 1997 Lone Star Film and Television award for Best Actor.
Larry’s most recent work has been in animation as the character
voice of Wallace Brady on the series “The Simpsons.” He had a
curing role in the series “Nip/Tuck,” playing the part of Burt
Landeau. Although his roles are now less frequent, Larry continues
to appear in small roles and cameos for movies and in television.
Larry Hagman has been a prolific contributor to the entertainment
industry and provides a long legacy of films and shows to entertain
people for years to come.
